Hey melonhead types, Blind Melon Live at the Metro will be playing on TV (Cable & Satellite) in the US tonight. I'm sure most folks already have the DVD, but it might be interesting to see how they cut it up and what is said. Here's the schedule for VH1 Classic.. www.vh1.com/channels/vh1_classic/channel_daily.jhtmlAs fan of VH1 Classic and their vault-level videos from my youth, I have seen a number of 90's bands appear on Hangin' With, a show where the band is interviewed and videos are shown along with a live perfomance or two. My hope is that the melon guys appear on this show sometime, but with this apparent Capitol Records snub, it's probably not likely.

Gotta love the credit on the front page... Flash Food. Sweet! Sounds like some kind of futuristic delicacy.
Just watched the television debut of Metro. They cut a handful of songs to make it an hour, otherwise looks eerily similar to the content on my DVD... oh yea, it is. well, I hope it might of at least turned on a few folks that were unaware of the melon and allowed them to remember what a real rock band sounds like.

how was it, did they do the melons justice? or did they butcher the show with commercials and useless rhetoric?

no rhetoric whatsover.. vh1 used the intro piece on the dvd right into the first song and in 1 hour they had 5 commercial breaks and knocked out probably 5 songs off the broadcast. overall kinda weird they even put it on there at all. the legacy of BM is always going to fly under the radar and that's fine. but the way alot of recent projects are handled seems like there isnt much thought or care put into it by the label. i never understood the purpose of classic masters and then this year's greatest hits coming out with zero marketing support. now the live show from la comes out with, again, no support. and the record industry wonders why they're losing money.
