Mouth Full of Cavities is a song that i sit on my front porch, light up a smoke, and sit with my accoustic to play almost daily. Still in the year 2k6 i cannot pick up my guitar without playing this song. And every time, I still get shivers. Even as I crackle through the lyrics with my not so great voice, I can always hear Shannon leading, and I just hope that if in some strange way he is able to hear me, that he is not dissapointed in my rendition.

yeah i heard this version and i really don't think it's that bad. in fact, i like it. she's not 'disgracing' shannon or anything like that by putting him in the second verse. it made me look at the whole song in a different way. IT'S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH WHO'S SINGING IT!!! i mean music is about how you relate to it. these songs will always be about the band that performed them, but everyone is doing them their own way to show their expression of the song, which i think is the greatest thing that comes from their songs. the more people who do melon songs, i believe, the better for the band.
nobody is going to do a cover song to trash the original. they're doing their best to show their feelings on it. and most people can relate to mouthful of cavities.

I just checked out Jena Kraus's myspace and I like this other version too!
Also She didn't remake the song and put Shannon in the backround.
It looks like Shannon himself approved of this version and had something to do with it.Read her blog.

Didn't listen to this song in a while, but it makes me cry almost everytime...
The combination of SHannon and Jena is amazing.. either SHannon or Jena on the background..
I like them both...
Great to hear this one...
Keep going Jena, will you ever performe in Europe??? I hope so, and I'll be there....
